Our Process – From Concept to Delivery

Building Precision, Step by Step

At Rachel Dies & Tools, every mould begins with an idea — and ends with a precision-engineered product. Our streamlined workflow ensures that every project, whether a prototype or mass-production mould, passes through a proven five-step process:

Concept → Design → Tooling → Testing & Production → Delivery.

Each phase is handled by specialists using a mix of craftsmanship, CAD technology, and modern machining, ensuring you get the perfect balance of quality, efficiency, and performance.

Step 1: Concept – Understanding Your Vision

Every great product begins with a concept. We start by understanding your product idea, function, and manufacturing goals. Whether you come with a sketch, CAD file, or just an idea — our team analyses feasibility, part design, and material choice. What Happens Here:

  • Initial project consultation
  • Product and part requirement analysis
  • Mould feasibility study
  • Concept validation and project costing

We aim to translate your ideas into a viable plan for production — laying the foundation for a successful mould.

Step 2: Design – Turning Ideas into Blueprints

Our design stage bridges creativity and engineering precision. Using advanced 2D and 3D CAD software, we create detailed mould designs that ensure manufacturability, durability, and efficient cycle times.
Products Include:

  • CAD Modelling & 3D Design Visualization
  • Mould Flow & Toolpath Simulation
  • Product-to-Mould Optimization
  • Design Approval from Client

We believe that great tooling starts with great design — so every detail is validated before machining begins.

Step 3: Tooling – Precision Manufacturing in Action

Once the design is approved, it moves to our tool room for production. Our workshop in Vasai is equipped with lathe machines, milling, drilling, surface grinding, and we collaborate with trusted CNC machining and EDM partners for complex jobs. Processes Include:

  • Machining of cores, cavities, and inserts
  • Fitting, alignment, and polishing
  • Assembly and initial mould testing
  • Surface finishing and inspection

Each tool is built to deliver dimensional accuracy, repeatability, and strength under high-volume production.

Step 4: Testing & Production – From Validation to Output

Before any mould reaches the client, it goes through trial runs and quality validation.
We ensure that every part produced meets the design intent, surface finish, and fit requirements.
This Stage Covers:

  • Trial Mould Testing (T0, T1 samples)
  • Dimensional and functional checks
  • Fine-tuning of mould for optimal performance
  • Low-volume or pilot production (if required)

For clients who opt for full production, we manage short-run or trial batch manufacturing through our injection moulding partners — ensuring a seamless move from prototype to product.

Step 5: Delivery – Ready for Production

Once the tool passes all quality checks, it’s carefully packaged and delivered to your factory, ready for use. We also provide installation support and post-delivery maintenance to ensure your mould continues performing at its best. What You Receive:

  • Final mould assembly & documentation
  • Quality assurance report
  • Optional after-sales support & maintenance schedule

At this stage, your project transitions from design to a real, tangible tool — ready to power production.
